I am Lomel, a British born of Jamaican parents. I have a pleasant personality, love to have fun, dance, entertain and travel. I am a Primary School Assistant for the past 19 years.

I first heard about quadrille in 2018 when I attended a JÁNUKA performance. I found it mesmerising and knew I wanted a personal performance. This occurred in 2023 at my 60th birthday party. I joined JÁNUKA quadrille group in 2024 after attending several practice sessions to confirm my commitment. As a woman who loves to dance, this elite group with their elegant moves suited my mobility. I am able to gracefully and proudly showcase historical dances with panache. The beautiful costume, worn with pride, also helps to transport me into another world.

At the end of a long day, meeting with other dancers, who share their knowledge and wisdom, in an environment of integrity and mutual respect, always allow me to go home uplifted and rejuvenated. I am so proud to be a member of JÁNUKA, a group where joy, fun, history, unity and dance can be recreated from the past, into the present and unto the next generation.
